North Queensland coastal communities have had a wild ride over the past few days with the effects from #cyclonedebbie felt far and wide across Queensland. The clean-up and recovery begins and it’s now time to help those most effected. The Townsville community is pulling together to give their support. Stepping Stone Baskets, a Townsville not for profit volunteer group, are one who are now calling for donations in working to put together personal hygiene packs to help the victims of Cyclone Debbie. Local radio Station, Star 106.3 FM, are also calling for non-perishable food and water for their TRUCK FULL OF FOOD Disaster Relief take will take all supplies donated by Stepping Stones and community donations directly to those areas who need it most.
We have joined in the appeal, supporting Stepping Stone Baskets with a donation of RID Outdoor Mosquito Coil packs in an effort to contribute to help fill these baskets alongside many other local businesses and the Townsville Community. We amplify these call outs to help our North Queensland neighbours in their recovery. Anyone wanting to donate personal toiletries that can be delivered direct to Stepping Stones warehouse in Townsville please visit their FB page and for non-perishable food and water to Star 1063FM in Sturt Street, Townsville, or go to GIVIT to donate where 100% of funds received will be spent locally to support communities affected by Cyclone Debbie.
Stay safe Queensland as the effects of torrential rains and gale force winds roll across Queensland.
